What we collect
- Free AI crawler check: the web address you check and the result. If you ask us to email the fix, your email address too.
- Free AI visibility audit: your web address, what you told us you sell, and the audit results. If you ask for your free article, your email address and anything you add about your business.
- Limits on the free tools: a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, so one person can't run hundreds of checks. We don't keep the IP address itself.
- Which link you came from: if you accept cookies and arrived from one of our ads or tagged links, the name of that ad or link, stored with your check, audit or signup.
- Clients: the details you give us in your client portal (business profile, billing details) and the pages we write and track for you.
Why we use it
- To run the check or audit you asked for and send you what you asked for by email.
- To follow up about your results. Every email lets you say no to more.
- To see which ads and pages bring people to us, so we spend less on the ones that don't.
- For clients: to deliver the service you pay for.
We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone except the services below.
Services that help us run CiteArtemis
- Cloudflare: hosts the website and its database.
- Resend: sends our emails.
- Anthropic (Claude) and Perplexity: the AI services that run the audit searches and write content. They see the web address and topic you gave us, not your email.
- Google Analytics and Meta: only if you accept cookies (below).
Cookies
Nothing below is set until you click Accept on the cookie banner. If you click Reject, we set only the cookie that remembers your choice.
- Your choice (
ca_consent): remembers Accept or Reject for about 6 months. Always set once you choose. - Google Analytics (
_gaand similar): counts visits and which pages people read. - Meta Pixel (
_fbpand similar): tells Meta (Facebook and Instagram) when someone who saw our ad used a free tool, so we can see which ads work. Meta's own privacy policy covers what Meta does with it. - Our ad-source cookie (
ca_src, 30 days): remembers which of our ads or links brought you, so a later check or signup is credited to it. - Homepage test (
ab_variant, 30 days): keeps showing you the same version of our homepage while we test two designs. - Client portal and dashboard sign-in: keeps you signed in. Needed for those pages to work.
Analytics and Meta never load on client portal pages or on a client's private article page.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it: email [email protected] from the address you used. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
